First Practice On Partners Hair

First Practice On Partners Hair

Working with my partner today practising our final assessment ideas, seeing what has worked and just trying/sharing ideas with each other.

My partner has short hair so I thought it would be difficult to do some hairstyles on their hair but as I was getting into it I found it not as bad as I thought and loved his ideas.

TOOLS USED:

  • Crimper's
  • Straighteners
  • Curlers
  • Grips
  • Sectioning comb
  • Sectioning grips
  • Hairspray
Step 1
Section the hair into 3 sections, one on the centre parting comb width thick and then sections either side of it
Step 2
Dutch braid down the middle parting and secure at the end with grips
Step 3
Crimp one of the sections of the hair and brush through with the comb
Step 4
Get a small paper thin section of the hair and use hairspray on the hair and then straighten it but as you are straightening in curl it over into a roll and then grip it with two grips. Do this with all the hair, I have done 4 sections of rolls at the front, middle and then at the back 3 rolls as the hair is shorter.

As I started on the other section we decided instead of the straighteners we should use curlers to curl the rolls over. In the images underneath you can see better results.

 Step 5
Follow all the steps but swap the straighteners for curlers instead.

I wasn't able to finish all the hair, but doing small changes as using the curlers instead of straighteners will quicken my time and also crimping all the hair first will get the out of the way as save time.

I loved doing someone else's design on their own hair it was different and I have learnt some good ideas and skills.
